Dr. Jonathan M. Greer is one of the leading Rheumatology and Internal Medicine Specialists in Palm Beach County. Board certified in Rheumatology and Internal Medicine, Dr. Greer believes that the patient always comes first when it comes to providing healthcare. He credits education as the key to helping patient understand and manage their rheumatologic conditions.
Dr. Greer was raised in an academic family in Gainesville, Florida. His father was a Professor and Chairman of Neurology at the University of Florida and was the inspiration for Dr. Greer to enter the field of medicine. His schooling includes an undergraduate degree from Oberlin College in 1979 and a degree from the University of Florida Medical School in 1983. Dr. Greer completed his residency at the University of Rochester (NY) in 1986. He then completed his Rheumatology Fellowship training at the University of Florida in 1988 and entered private practice. He joined Arthritis and Rheumatology Associates of Palm Beach in 1997 and currently practices at the Boynton Beach location.
Dr. Greer is an active member of the community, contributing to medicine and education in the Palm Beach area. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at both Nova Southeastern University and the University of Miami. Dr. Greer is also a member of the Florida Society of Rheumatology, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians, a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology, a Certified Clinical Densitometrist, a member of the American Society of Clinical Rheumatology, and has been appointed as Assistant Clinical Professor of Biomedical Sciences at Florida Atlantic University. He is on staff at JFK Medical Center. Additionally he volunteers his medical expertise at the Arthritis Foundation’s clinic for medically indigent arthritis patients.
At present, Dr. Greer is the only rheumatologist certified to treat Dupuytren’s contractures with Xiaflex.
Beyond Dr. Greer’s medical accomplishments, he enjoys spending time with his wife, playing with his six children, and relaxing with his two dogs. Dr. Greer also uses his time to pursue his personal interests of reading, teaching, and exercising.
